Absolutely amazing retelling of an evil Prime Minister’s attack on Chinese rebels in Southern China. Epic two part movie with battles as big in scale as Lord of the Rings’ but with a heavier focus on the strategies involved. The strategy elements of the film are easily the most entertaining bits and I haven’t even mentioned the wonderful scenery, martial arts, and fleshed out characters.
I insist that this film must be seen in the 2 part, 5 hour version as every scene matters! Subtitles are plentiful but tone down in the second half. Not a problem for me but just a warning :)
